Espresso Machine Mantra

The things you learn from coffee

When I was at the London Coffee Festival I ran across this absolutely breath taking espresso machine with an equally breath taking quote.

“Sleep is a symptom of caffeine deprivation”

Sleep and coffee are synonyms of each other if your a college student or have a profession that requires late nights and long days.

Since I am a college student with two jobs and an internship, my days are endless. Draining jobs and hours of homework when I finally get off, leaves my reservoir of energy dry. I am a person that has extreme anxiety. Not unlike many people of my millennial generation, my anxiety is brought on by my heavy work load at school and jobs. When a person with anxiety doesn’t get enough sleep, their anxiety is heightened. When a person with anxiety doesn’t eat enough, their anxiety is heightened. Caffeine causes loss of appetite as well as sleep deprivation.

Caffeine causes me anxiety.

Now, I’m sure your wondering why on earth I would continue to drink caffeine if it causes me so many problems. The answer is, it’s my only option. The lifestyle I live and so many others don’t give you the option of sleeping and eating at a healthy rate. That would be a dream.

Coffee is single handedly running most peoples lives while simultaneously destroying it. People don’t realize the balance that needs to be had when including caffeine in your life. If not monitored or regulated you can end up putting to much stress on your mind and body.

This quote is something that I am constantly thinking about considering it applies to me so directly. To all of my fellow caffeine drinkers, I want you to try and balance your weekly caffeine intake to allow your body to rest when it needs to. If you know you have a big week or project coming up then try to drink less caffeine before hand so your not over whelmed with to many days in a row of sleepless nights.

All though I am coffee fanatic I know when to stop and give my mind and body a rest from the caffeine drug.

Sleep is a symptom of caffeine deprivation but sleep deprivation is a symptom of caffeine.

Drink responsibly

Sincerely, Siren
